Surfaces, formats and applicationsINSIDE YOUR HOME
Living room, entrance, kitchen: choose the area, relief and light before the colour. Stone becomes part of the space when it works with its surroundings.

There is no need to clad every wall. A surface behind the sofa, an entrance or an architectural volume can define a room's character. Consider how much relief you want and view the stone from the distance at which you will see it every day.
Grazing light highlights edges and shadows; more diffused light softens the contrast. Try several pieces alongside the flooring, furniture and render colour.
Sockets, switches, skirting boards, doors and corners need dimensions that allow for the final thickness. The substrate and installation system should also be chosen according to the cladding's weight.

SPECIAL SETTINGS
Consider splashes, grease and how easy the surface will be to clean. Pronounced stone relief needs different care from a more regular finish; cleaners and treatments must be compatible with the selection.
A stone finish does not replace the system's waterproofing. For showers and wet areas, check the selection, adhesive, joints and maintenance. The black slate product information also warns of possible rust staining in the presence of moisture.
The product information mentions fireplace cladding, but this does not mean suitability for direct flame contact or the inner firebox. Distances, temperatures and the installation system should be agreed with the technical professional and follow the appliance instructions.
